Consistent Tasmanian mare WITH DECORUM (Savoire Vivre - Royal Egypt) went down by the narrowest of margins in a head bobbing finish at Sandown on Wednesday. Carrying topweight, and ridden by Tasmanian apprentice Jason Maskiell, the mare fought gallantly but was unluckliy defeated right on the line. Trainer John Blacker has left With Decorum in Melbourne, and she will race again on Saturday week at Sandown in a Fillies and Mares race over a mile. With Decorum has now won 9 races, run two seconds in Melbourne, and has stakes totalling over $130,000. Bred by Armidale Stud, and offered at the Armidale Yearling Sale, the mare was passed in for $15,000 and retained by the Stud to race. She is raced in partnership with close friends Ken and Jenny Breese of Melbourne and Jim Osborne of Longford.

Savoire Vivre and Telesto both sired impressive winners at Mowbray last weekend with I SAID (trained by Mick Burles and bred and raced by John and Claire Farrell) winning the Super VOBIS Maiden, and consistent filly ARAYA (Telesto - Tipsy Tapper) bred by Armidale STud and raced by the Hanson family winning the Class 1 over 1220m. One of the eye catching runs of the day was ANOTHER BURLINSON (by Armidale Sire TOUGH SPEED) who flew home from almost last on the turn to run 2nd in the Three Year Old Maiden Plate. Bred and trainer by Di Ray Luttrell this gelding is certainly worth following, as is the filly TUFFSTUFF (also by TOUGH SPEED and trained by Di Ray Luttrell) who ran another creditable 2nd at only her second start.
